Tomáš Hirt is a social and cultural anthropologist who works at the Department of Anthropology of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. In his lecturing and research activities, he focuses mainly on visual and applied anthropology. Thematically, the focus of his professional activities most often relates to the question of nationalism, ethnicity, multiculturalism, social integration, and more recently to the theory and practice of ethnographic filmmaking in the context of social and cultural anthropology.
