Born: 1977

Tereza Stöckelová is engaged in studies of science and technology. She completed her PhD studies in sociology at Charles University in 2008 with a dissertation thesis "Biotechnologization: Legitimacy, materiality and instantiations of resistance" on the expert and political controversies over GMO in the CR and EU. She has worked on an ethnographic study of changing research practices and environments in the CR, the constitution and role of expertise in environmental issues and the reflexive movements of knowledge between science and society. She works in the Institute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences CR and collaborates with a NGO Green Circle on a research and advocacy project developing new modes of collaboration between NGOs, the public and the academic sector.

Jakub Grygar is social anthropologist, assistant professor at Department of Sociology at the Charles University in Prague. He combines his interest in anthropology of borders, social memory and mobilization of ethnicity with studies of (re)production of social and political order. Jakub Grygar engages in a study of enacting the external EU border at the Polish-Belarusian borderland and in problems of social exclusion of Roma in the Czech Republic.
