Vítězslav Sommer is a research fellow at the Institute of Contemporary History of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague and lecturer at the Institute of Economic and Social History at the Charles University, Faculty of Arts. His research is concerned with the history of social sciences and expertise in state socialism and post-socialism and with the relationship between knowledge production and governance in Czechoslovakia before and after 1989.
