On the ambivalency of the world without written rules: Negotiating intimacy and formal rules in paid domestic work and care in Slovakia

The text reviews the book by Zuzana Sekeráková Búriková Doing Cleaning and Providing Childcare: Paid Domestic Work in Slovakia, published in 2017 in MUNIPRESS, Brno. The book focuses on the demand for paid domestic workers in Slovakia and situates the employment of paid domestic workers (nannies, babysitters and cleaners) in Slovakia within the dominant conceptual frameworks used for interpreting paid domestic work.
